MAKE A BIT. BUILD ON IT.

Running Gags

For a community that can turn one silly idea into an entire production.

Your audience builds an absurd sponsor pitch, one credited contribution at a time.

A LITTLE TASTE · INTERACTIVE EXAMPLE

See the moment. Be the audience.

ON THE SHARED STAGEEXAMPLE

Running Gags

Our imaginary sponsor makes a toaster with stage fright. What is its slogan?

THE SETUP

The host sets the scene. Your audience takes it from here.

YOUR AUDIENCE CONTROLLER

Choose a sample line to build the pitch around.

Two illustrative House lines show a single choice in a connected pitch. The real game credits selected contributors across three beats; it never awards competitive points. This example does not collect ballots or simulate the whole contribution chain.

Read the sample reveals

Your sample pick: “A standing ovation. Eventually.” Next, the writers build on that promise. The pitch belongs to the ensemble.

Your sample pick: “Breakfast, once everyone stops looking.” Next, the writers build on that promise. The pitch belongs to the ensemble.

THE GAME IN DEVELOPMENT

Here’s how the room gets into it.

Volunteer to write. Vote anonymously on each link. Your host performs the result. A cooperative show with ensemble credit and no points.

THE HOST

Set up the moment.

Introduce the absurd sponsor pitch, invite volunteers, and give each selected line its moment. Perform the completed pitch with its contributor credits.

THE AUDIENCE

Make it yours.

Volunteer for a rotating writing turn or help choose the next line. Each winning contribution becomes the foundation for the next beat. Ballots hide author names; you cannot vote for your own entry.

BEFORE YOU START

A little preparation.

Explain that this is cooperative: no points or individual leaderboard. Labeled House lines keep choices available when needed. Moderating an earlier line also removes its dependent continuations, so the bit can reset safely.
